FRANK | All I Ever Do | |
|
LYRICS:
I took your hand this morning And we turned to grey The colour in your eyes was dark as lead I wanna get the passion back of yesterday When our love was red Been looking at the pictures that you put away Our multi coloured kissing in the sand But you don't even recognize What's happening in our shadow land Well hot, hot heavy Can't you see I'm ready on my knees? I'm waiting for you Hot, hot heavy Now my heart beat's getting kind of real That's how I feel 'Cos all I ever do is wait at home for you When all you ever do Is make me black and blue Said you'd paint me colours of a kid's cartoon But I'm standing and I'm fading before you If you find a way to touch me I can feel your heat A burning that I know you can't forget Don't worry I can colour in the in-betweens When I'm in your bed 'Cos you wrap me up in metal on a steel guitar And shock me with a flashing of your eye Come on cookie let me Brighten up your batteries and set you alight Well hot, hot heavy Can't you see I'm ready on my knees? I'm waiting for you Hot, hot heavy Now my heart beat's getting kind of real That's how I feel 'Cos all I ever do is wait at home for you When all you ever do Is make me black and blue Said you'd paint me colours of a kid's cartoon But I'm standing and I'm fading before you Life, you gotta take me higher Oh don't you give me that chit chatter 'Cos I won't keep it down And life, I wanna walk your wire I've got my scarlet shoes so it don't matter I'm gonna rouge the town 'Cos all I ever do is wait at home for you When all you ever do Is make me black and blue Said you'd paint me colours of a kid's cartoon But I'm standing and I'm fading before you

Written by Miranda Cooper, Brian Higgins, Tim Powell, Nick Coler, Paul Woods & Frank. REVIEWS: x On "All I Ever Do" [Xenomania] go all in and create a loud, thrilling pop number that makes no discernible effort to not sound like it could have been recorded by Girls Aloud. The guitar riff is prominent, and while not surf-twangy, has the kind of crunchiness that we know and love. (...) the wavering melody of "All I Ever Do" is so lilting -- "I took your hand this morning and we turned to grey"; "cause all I ever do is wait at home for you/When all you ever do is make me black and blue" -- that it drags Lauren's vocals up and down the scale, and thereby injects or even forces a bit more emotion into them (much as Richard X's production did to Rachel Stevens' on "Crazy Boys," as I've argued).
